Free enterprise

We had a lovely 4th of July. Friday morning we went to the parade. It was a decent parade. The boys got lots of candy so they loved it. After the parade we tried walking around to the booths and stuff they had set up but there were way too many people because everyone went right from the parade to the booths. So we went out to lunch at 5 Guys with our friends instead. Then we came home for naps before packing back up and heading down to the park that night for fireworks. We went early and ate a funnel cake and played in the park and listened to the music and had a jolly good time. They had a really good firework show and it was kind of cool because the music was performed by a live orchestra and since we were right down in the park we got to hear it. Matthew said while watching the firework show, "Dad, I change my free enterprise from being a football player to being a firework lighter!" Classic Matthew moment. (He learned about free enterprise from our Brite CD: Take Your Hat Off. I love it and highly recommend it.)

Downtown Lubbock has these cool cobblestone streets. That is where they did the parade-very fitting.

These last 2 pictures are actually from last weekend when we went out to Levelland for their heritage festival. It was fun even though we were a little disappointed by how expensive the train ride was, and the petting zoo didn't show up. But we had some delicious food: fried Twinkie and smoked turkey leg!
