The family reunion was a wonderful time like always. It felt so good to be there with the family especially since we had to miss last year. This is probably my favorite picture this year. Landon was a basket case to say the least...he had some serious attachment issues. My dad took him kicking and screaming one time to give me a break. They went for a walk in the bushes and came back like this. Landon was happy for once and it was so cute.
The most memorable experience was hands down the "hike" we went on. The boys had been talking for weeks about getting to go hiking and Koyle kept emphasizing that he wanted to hike to the TOP of the mountain. So we set out one afternoon to do just that. I got a little ambitious though and decided we should just forge a path right up the side of the first mountain we came to. So we did.
Matthew refused to follow our switchback trail and insisted on going straight up because, "I'm a man!" He was also going to kill a rabbit all day because "He was a man!" It was hilarious. But he did make it all the way up on his own. This was the view down from where we finally decided to stop. I wasn't joking when I said we literally just hiked right up the mountain side.
Brynnley was fine until she looked down and then she kind of lost it. And Mandi may have had an encounter with a sharp rock between the legs : )
The view was beautiful and well worth the hike.
The boys decided they need to tackle the mountain and they hiked the rest of the way up. Koyle had his king of the mountain moment. Needless to say the next hike we went on, we stayed on the trail.
Zoey loved playing with the kids at the river. They would throw rocks and she would chase after them.
One of the few places Landon was happy was throwing rocks down by the river.
Rick brought up some kayaks this year and the boys had a fun, albeit rocky ride.
Tent hair!
These two little boys would have been better friends if Landon wasn't screaming the whole time. Next year...
Koyle did a LOT of fishing but Matthew surprisingly wasn't interested. I'm pretty sure Koyle caught the most fish of anybody this year. They caught a lot of bull trout which made Koyle a little sad because they are catch and release only.
Landon LOVED Zoey so much. And she is such a good dog to let Landon sit and love on her. If Zoey was around, Landon would run over to her and be so happy until she left.
The last fish of the trip. As we pulled out of camp we stopped at the bridge to let Koyle catch one more fish. We love this camping trip and I hope my boys get to keep coming forever and ever just like I have.
