This year Matthew decided to play soccer. It was so much fun and just the perfect thing we were looking for. Justin got roped into coaching again-what are you going to do when they say we need a coach or the kids can't play? But it was so low key and easy that it wasn't a problem this year. We were able to get a bunch of friends together on the same team which made it extra fun. Matthew started off the season with a bang, making the first goal of the season! And even though his performance waned from there, he had a lot of fun and I think learned a few things along the way.
Our team was the Wildcats! Everyone got these cheesy dino balls, and the uniforms have the dinosaur on them too. But you can't complain about a free ball.
We had beautiful weather. Ran into a few storms late in May, but amazingly only had one game that needed rescheduled.
Half time treats! Always the highlight for the kids.
Clayton Parry coached the team with Justin. We had a great group of kids and parents. Everybody came to practices and the games, remembered their snack day, etc. It made our job easy.
Team Party! It was cold, but we had fun anyway.
Matthew's biggest fans!
Koyle wanted to play soccer so badly. By the end of the season he was doing most of practice with the kids, and due to our last game being rescheduled and a few kids not being able to make it, we even let Koyle make a debut in the game! He is signed up to play soccer in the fall, and he tells everyone how excited he is.
