On Saturday April 12, we got up at about 5 AM and jumped in the car and headed to Raleigh, North Carolina to the temple. We had been to the Washington D.C. temple several times before so we decided to go on to N.C. It was about a 4 hr drive and we had decent weather most of the way there. It is one of the smaller temples they have been building, which was cool to see. The stake center it shares a parking lot with is actually bigger than the temple itself. So you have to call ahead and make an appointment...especially since there are only about 3 or 4 sessions on Saturday. There was a wedding that day as well so that was fun to see the joy and excitement that we experienced just 3 months before and are still experiencing! We got done at about 12:30 and went to grab a bite to eat. I ate at Chick-fil-A for the first time. Carissa had been before, but I hadn't so we went. Its famous in this part of the world and I will admit it was pretty good chicken. Then since we were in the area we decided we would drive through downtown Raleigh and check it out....you know if you're going to travel you may as well see the sights! We drove through it, although it was nothing spectacular, and headed home. We got caught in a nice thunderstorm and had to drive about 20 MPH for a while because it was raining so hard we couldn't see. But after an hour or so, the weather turned BEAUTIFUL and it was a wonderful drive home. We even took a little detour and drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway which over looks the area. It was a lot of fun and a wonderful afternoon drive. It is a blessing to have a temple so close like in Idaho, but at the same time its kind of fun to have to take a road trip to the temple.

I am glad you are taking advantage of the chance you have to see a few things back East, before you move back to God's country. See you in four days.
When I hear you guys talking about going to the different temples it reminds me of being in Utah...now I didn't have to drive as far to get to them, but I loved seeing all the different ones. You'll be glad you went to them, well...I'm sure you already know that. :)
yay for an update on your blog! How fun that you got to see so many temples on your way to/ in VA. And wahoo for you moving to UT where there are lots of temples AND your favorite family members! :)
